Specifics of Occurrence and Research on Fires in Modern Vehicles

Abstract

This article purpose is to set out an algorithm for determining mechanism of fire occurrence, taking into account the tangible and materialized sources of information submitted for examination.

For achieving this goal, the author uses both general scientific and specialized methods of scientific cognition, including systematic approach, comparative legal method, deduction and induction, as well as methods of interpretation, structural analysis and observation.

The author analyzes existing fire hazards in various types of motor vehicles and provides relevant statistical data. Characteristic causes of fires for motor vehicles are investigated and their conditional differentiation is performed. Possible scenarios for the course of such fires are presented and the probable places of occurrence of fires are indicated. specifics of intentional and unintentional fires are analyzed in detail. The main distinguishing signs of these groups of fires are given. The main causes of unintentional fires in motor vehicles are interaction of combustible substances in case of depressurization of fuel system with the potential thermal impulse of the exhaust gas exhaust system, as well as thermal manifestations of electrical energy, in particular, short circuits in electrical equipment of the vehicle. Vehicle manufacturers and/or their owners are proposed to equip vehicles with an automatic fire extinguishing system and fire extinguishers of appropriate type that provide for extinguishing precisely in order to minimize material losses and the impact of fire hazards on people and environment.
