Terminology

DOI is a digital identifier of any object: physical, digital or abstract one. DOIs solve a common issue: event tracking. Things can be matter, material, content, or activity. DOIs, intended for use by both humans and machines, constantly identify objects. They allow you to uniquely identify things and provide reliable access to.

h-index (Hirsch index) is author-level indicator providing quantitative description of research work. The h-index is based on the number of publications of researcher and the number of citations of these publications.

Author is an individual who created the work by his/her creative activity.

Copyright is a branch of civil law and intellectual property law regulating relations that arise in connection with creation and scientific works, literature and art, protects personal (non-property) and property rights of authors and their successors. Copyright owner has the exclusive right to use the work (with some exceptions). When a person creates an original work placed on physical medium, they automatically become the copyright owner of this work.

Bibliography is a list much larger than references. It contains all sources used by the author during preparation of the paper text.

Executive Secretary: of Editorial board is responsible for  administrative and organizational aspects of the work of  Editorial board. He signs minutes of meetings of the Editorial board and provides information on the content and thematic content of the journal editorial portfolio.

Website is a set of data, digital information, in particular objects of copyright and/or related rights, etc., interconnected and structured within website address and/or account of the owner of such a website which are accessed through an Internet address, that can consist of a domain name, directory or call records, and/or an Internet Protocol numeric address.

Web page is a component of a website located at a special address on Internet.

Publication is a paper (document) that has undergone editorial and publishing processing, produced by printing, embossing or other means, contains information intended for distribution and meets the requirements of regulatory and legal acts on issues of publishing design, printing and technical implementation.

Editor-in-chief is responsible for general journal management; he determines its strategy. He convenes meetings of the Editorial board, determines their location and time. Drafts the project for the release of each issue of the journal, prepares documents for consideration at meetings and ensures implementation of made decisions. He analyzes the work of Editorial board, provides suggestions for its improvement and represents the journal in relations with other editions.

Deputy Editor-in-Chief assists the Editor-in-Chief in managing the journal and can be responsible for certain aspects of the publishing house. He organizes the work of Editorial board, instructs members to review manuscripts and makes proposals for including articles in the issue.

Advisory board is a permanent collegial advisory body. The main tasks of the Advisory board are: establish a systematic dialogue and effective interaction of authors with reviewers, contribute to strengthening the authors’ confidence; assist in creating conditions that make impossible to use the journal content  to restrict the rights and freedoms of citizens, as well as in the interests of individuals, political parties, public organizations, internal review of incoming articles.

Confidentiality is a property that is not subject to publicity; trustworthiness, secrecy, pure privacy.

Conflict of interests is existence of a person’s private interest in the field where he performs his official or representative powers, that can affect objectivity or impartiality of his decision-making, or performance or non-performance of actions during performance of these powers.

International Standard Book Number (ISBN) is number that internationally identifies the relevant edition of a particular publisher; International Standard Serial Number (ISSN ) is unique number used to identify a printed or electronic periodical.

Plagiarism is publication of a work or part of it in an unchanged or modified form, including the publication of a translation of a foreign work or part of it, under the name of a person who is not the author of this work.

References is a list that includes only those sources where there are direct references in the text (when a quote from one or another author can be seen in the text).

Editors are scientists and specialists in a discipline that is relevant to the journal. They are responsible for selecting articles for publication. They can perform internal peer review. In general, content of each issue depends on the editors.

Editorial Board is one of the key components of a scientific publication that plays an important role in determining its quality, credibility and influences its inclusion in rating databases such as Scopus or Web of Science. This is a group of experts and specialists who are responsible for selection and review of content published in the journal. It covers academics and professionals with extensive experience and credibility in the particular field or fields covered in the journal. In its activities, it is guided by international ethical rules of scientific publications.

Editorial Board is a team of full-time and freelance specialists working on publication of the collection of scientific papers.

Retraction is possible ways to make corrections or withdraw  published article. According to the COPE guidelines, a retraction is a mechanism for correcting published paper and warning readers that it is so flawed or contains inaccurate data that its conclusions cannot be trusted.

Review is a publication where a research paper (article) is analyzed and evaluated, recommendation by a specialist (reviewer) on possibility of publication or the need to finalize the article.

References is reference information, a list of references, during which compilation of transliteration is used. It goes in a block and repeats bibliography in English, regardless of whether there are foreign sources in it or not.

Distribution is any action by which means originals or other copies of objects of copyright and/or related rights are directly or indirectly offered to the public in a way, including the first sale or other first alienation of originals or other copies of the copyright object and /or related rights.

Self-plagiarism is the reuse of text, usually without references, in new publications by the author(s).

Transliteration is translation of text and individual words, recorded by one graphic system, by means of another graphic system, whereby translation of one writing by letters of another. A quote is a fragment (excerpt) from a legally published work, a recorded performance, a legally released audio  or video  recording used with mandatory reference to its author and/or performer, producer of audio recording, producer of video recording and the citation source, by another person in order to make to make their own statements clearer or to refer to the expression of another person in an unchanged (authentic) form or in a translation of such a fragment (excerpt).
