Privacy Statement

The legal basis of confidentiality policy of Theory and Practice of Forensic Science and Criminalistics is provisions of the Law of Ukraine №  2297-VI dated on June 1, 2010 On Protection of Personal Data, as well as the General Data Protection Regulation (EU GDPR). The latest consolidated version of the Regulation with corrections by Corrigendum, OJ L 127, 23.5.2018, p. 2 ((EU) 2016/679).

Confidentiality is a property that is not subject to voting; trustworthiness, secrecy, purely privacy.

Editorial Board of the Collection guarantees the confidentiality of interaction procedure with the authors, in particular, it does not publish the negative opinions of reviewers on scientific articles and  results of their verification for authenticity and originality of the text (plagiarism).

Editorial board uses personal information about authors, reviewers, editors and other persons registered on the journal website only for checking, reviewing and/or publishing articles and does not transfer it to any other party (person).

 Editorial Board recognizes that whole content submitted to the journal are private and confidential property of the authors.

 The review of original author's manuscripts is carried out confidentially, since the authors trust the Editorial board with the results of their scientific work, on which their reputation and further scientific career can depend. Reviewers should refrain from using any ideas of the authors before the article publication.

 Editorial Board ensures confidentiality of the names and affiliations of reviewers while Double anonymized peer review and after manuscript publication. Reviewers' comments cannot be published or made public in any other way without reviewer, author and responsible editor permission.

 Editorial Board reject any requests from third parties regarding the use or transfer of copyright materials submitted for publication in the Collection. In order to avoid harm to the authors or reviewers due to premature disclosure of any information from the article, all participants in editorial procedure are prohibited from sharing with third parties during  preparation of the article for publication any details of the article content (in general or any part), data on progress review, reviewer comments and suggestions, interim or final review results. The editorial board undertakes not to disclose data on authors, readers, reviewers to third parties without their consent or if required by law.

The names and email addresses provided in this publication will only be used for the declared purposes.

Persons involved in editing of Research Paper Collection: Theory and Practice of Forensic Science and Criminalistics undertake to comply with industry data privacy standards, including provisions of the General Data Protection Regulation of European Union (GDPR) on the rights of data subjects that include:

  • violation notification;
  • right to information and access:
  • right to be forgotten;
  • data transfer;
  • confidentiality by design.

The GDPR allows recognition of the “public interest in data availability” that is of particular importance to those concerned with maintaining the highest possible integrity of public records of scientific publications.
