Combinations of philological knowledge application while forensic linguistic (semantic and textual) examination

This article purpose is to outline variants of philological knowledge application in the course of linguistic (semantic and textual) examination. For achieving this goal, general scientific and special research methods were used. The necessity of new scientific developments in the field of semantic and textual examination due to political and social requirements of the time is substantiated. Complexity of the work of linguistic expert due to the lack of methods for conducting forensic semantic and textual examination is noted. Possible options for applying philological knowledge in analyzing texts with signs of appeals, intimidation, propaganda, and profit are considered. The author outlines recommendations for research on texts using elements of semiotic, linguistic and pragmatic, semantic, stylistic, subject and thematic, formal and grammatical, descriptive, interpretive analysis, content analysis, and knowledge of cognitive linguistics. An example from the author’s own practice of researching a conflict text in a case of protection of honor, dignity, business reputation of an individual, as well as texts with socio-political content is given. The algorithms of forensic research of appeals and media texts are presented. Theoretical aspects and methodological recommendations for identifying the main signs of suicide in the text at the psychological, verbal and extra-verbal levels are highlighted. It is proved that semantic and textual research requires a thorough professional knowledge of linguistics.
